Designed by architects Reiach and Hall, New Stobhill Hospital is located in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Procured under PPP, £ 65m New Stobhill serves approximately 2,000 patients per day, has over 20 departments and carries about 85% of the work of a traditional hospital. The design has been carefully designed to provide a supportive environment through the patient journey in an integrated architecture not only in its location, but the psyche of the community. The ambition of art, poetry and architecture is to facilitate the hospital experience, convert the weather lasted the time for reflection. Text and color works, projections, drawings, and landscape during the cool north light are at the heart of this innovative project.
The patient goes into a full-length, full height, arch Daylite with an output publicly visible forward to facilitate the transition. The reception is immediately visible from the entrance to a department, and reached without going through a door. All vertical circulation is at the center of the room. The project has produced new opportunities for engagement with the adjacent Spring Burn Park and the community.
