Interior Philosophy

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this Watercolor, Florida vacation home photographed by Brian Bieder belonging to Mandy Mayers. Together with Jessica Roan, her friend and business partner in their Atlanta home furnishings shop, Interior Philosophy, the pair lifted colors from the surrounding coastal area when designing the space. It's beachy, but not in the conventional way we're used to seeing on here. Normally I like a lot of color, but there's so much depth here from the mix of textures combined with all the layers of natural elements. The sophisticated pops of gray and turquoise add the perfect amount of contrast. Gosh I love it. To read all about the home, just hop on over to Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles!

Pat Healing

I literally gasped out loud when I laid my eyes on this room photographed by Maura McEvoy in the latest House Beautiful. The homeowner's oldest daughter wanted an aqua and black room, so Pat Healing of HB Home used a lot of white to keep it from being too dark. I don't know what I love more...the the always-exquisite Sara Chandelier or Paradise Background by Quadrille filling the walls with our favorite color! Speaking of Quadrille, have you seen their new fabric?? I am loving these three below!

In just a few hours we will be taking off for our long weekend in Massachusetts! I've long been dreaming about strolling the streets of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, and thanks to you all, now Chatham. In fact I think that's where we will be celebrating my birthday tomorrow! I can't think of a better place to wrap up the best year of my life. 30 sure was a good one!

Designer Annette Tatum will be stopping by tomorrow with a guest post for you guys, and on Monday I have a fantastic giveaway all ready to roll. (You'll love it!) So with that, I need to bid you adieu so I can finish packing! :)

Kathleen DiPaolo

Total turquoise bliss! Designer Kathleen DiPaolo of Pacific Family Homes out of Newport Beach, CA gifted us with this double delight. Two sisters, twins to be exact, have the pleasure of calling these beautiful rooms their own. How drop-dead are the beds Kathleen designed (complete with hidden trundles) using Quadrille's "Pina" fabric?! If they weren't quite enough to make you fall head over heels, then I'm sure the dreamy grasscloth wallcoverings from Phillip Jefferies (Burmuda Hemp in Turquoise) certainly did! I love that she found the lamps and yellow chinoiserie chests on Etsy. The other adorable side tables belonged to the little girl's mother and grandmother. Oh, see in the last photo on the left?? Those are framed casts from one of many daredevil escapades!! Love it!

SFA Design

Nothing says "Something's Gotta Give" more than a blue and white striped rug and comfy slipcovered sofas! SFA Design out of Santa Barbara recently completed this Hamptons estate photographed by Eric Striffler, brimming with beachy blues and greens on a sandy-colored base. They only had 5 short weeks between initial design development and installation, so the team decided to source everything locally. They used local craftsmen to update existing furnishings and fixtures, and scoured shops from Manhattan to Southampton to find the perfect accessories. I love all the coastal pillows and colorful Dash and Albert rugs! To see tons more incredible homes designed by SFA Design, visit their website here!

François Halard

Golden slumbers fill your eyes! This beautiful bedroom photographed by François Halard for Vogue is entirely fit for a queen! I am in love with the stunning fabric draping the bed. The hand-screened Garden Pattern fabric was designed by Sandra Loveland Bragdon for her 41-year-old Hungry Palette shop in Stonington Borough, Connecticut. Imagine waking each morning in such a magnificent cocoon of glorious color!

Modern Beach House

Thanks for all of your awesome suggestions yesterday!! I didn't know I could get any more excited, but I did! I'm going to be in heaven on the sandy coast of Massachusetts. Sometimes I wonder how in the heck I can live in Minnesota when the sea is constantly beckoning me! (Although it helps we have our 10,000 lakes!) This home from Better Homes & Gardens reminds me how easy it is to bring the beach home, where ever you happen to live. Can you believe all of the homeowners fantastic collections? I'm loving the vintage globes, aqua pottery vases and collection of paintings in the bedroom. The vintage map of Cape Cod is perfect (and timely too!!) See more images right here!

Just Beachy Bunkie

If there's one person who accomplished a heck of a lot this summer (August, where did you go?!), it's Chris of Just Beachy. All summer long she has been working hard building this adorable backyard bunkie. It's been so fun watching the progress unfold on her blog, and I have to say the end results are even more darling than I imagined! I can't even handle those floors...they are so stinkin' perfect. She used cottage pine wood flooring from Home Depot and painted them using high gloss latex floor porch paint in a cheery Jamaican Bay by Behr. And I just adore her hand-painted beach sign made from roof scraps. So cute! You can see more photos and read all about her project right here!

Rocco Bosman

When I spotted the TDF shutters on Head Over Heels, I knew I'd need to see more! With the help of heritage architect Rocco Bosman, this 1907 South African farmhouse featured in House and Leisure and photographed by Elsa Young was renovated int0 an enchanting French style home. I'm positively in love with those breathtaking arched doors and the 100-year-old French shutters imported by La Basse-Cour. If the garden wasn't so insanely picturesque (did you see those roses?!), it would be hard for me to keep them open! Tour more of the eclectic interior right on over here!
