Florida Beach House

I wonder how many homes out there were inspired by the movie Something's Gotta Give. I mean, who doesn't love that kitchen?! Well the owner of this beautiful beach home in Grayton Beach, Florida photographed by Colleen Duffley said the movie definitely inspired their new home, the kitchen and its adjoining great room in particular. I am really digging their interpretation. As much as I love white painted trim, it's refreshing to see some wood! Tour the rest of the home (including a super fun bunk room) over at Traditional Home. Phillips deVeer Interiors

I was super excited last week to discover Phillips deVeer Interiors, the newly formed interior design studio founded by Elena K. Phillips and Cristin G. deVeer located in Rowayton, CT. I just love how their predominantly classic style balances traditional aesthetics with modern twists. The grasscloth (Phillips Jeffries #3441) in the dining room in the last photo....LOVE. And how gorgeous is the bathroom with the Quadrille wallpaper? What's cool is how they mix high and low though...the zigzag bedding is from Urban Outfitters (it's been on my "want" list forever!) Mona Ross Berman

I think it was fate that I accidentally received two issues of the new House Beautiful this month. One to keep and one to plaster my drool all over, thanks to this exuberant ocean-side home designed by Mona Ross Berman and photographed by Jonny Valiant. I can safely say this is my newest dream home, so fresh and vibrant, filled with white and juicy pops of color and pattern. I. Love. It. All. It's just so bright and sunny, so HAPPY. I love happy. I can imagine turning up the stereo and listening to a little "Sound of Sunshine" here. In fact, go play the song in another window and come back for another look at the photos. Your weekend has just started my friends! Enjoy it! :)

Tracy Rivers

If only every granddaughter could be so lucky!! Can you imagine the fun designer and artist Tracy Rivers of Little Rock's Angelfish Studios must have had when creating this luxury retreat for a 7-year old girl? Since it's not an everyday room for her, her grandparents wanted the space to be over the top, where she can be inspired during her visits. The walls are incredible here...hand-troweled Venetian plaster with a sparkly scroll design painted on the walls. And talk about shimmer, the tiles on the floor in the bathroom and miniature tiles in the shower are pearlescent with glitter grout. Glitter grout! Bonesteel Trout Hall

There's something to be said about the clean, earthy, colorful textures of the coast. In my book, no one interprets it better than the design firm Bonesteel Trout Hall, whose style epitomizes the laid back glamour of the California lifestyle. I absolutely adore their serene rooms filled with watery blues and greens. But just how fun are the rooms with more punchy color?? I'm loving every.single.photo! Windsor Smith "Room in a Box"

Without a doubt one of my all-time favorite designers is Windsor Smith. I am crazy about her elegant yet whimsical style and brilliant use of color. Is there anyone reading who hasn't drooled over that turquoise painted kitchen floor above?? It continues to make my heart sing! When it comes to designers with her level of talent and fame, I assume their services are usually reserved for those with the big budgets. Not so in her case. Windsor Smith believes everyone should have access to great design. I was excited to learn that she created an online decorating service called "Room in a Box" to bring her clever design ideas and to-the-trade resources to those of us with great taste and perhaps a wee bit smaller budget!
