Retro Swedish Kitchen

After being submersed in turquoise and pink the last few months (our wedding colors), it sure is nice to revisit my first love: turquoise and red. There's no better place to sport this cheery combo than in a vintage-inspired kitchen. I've always thought a checkerboard floor would be so fun! How cool is that old vending machine?? Paddles & Paws

Hitting up Tybee Island, Georgia has been on my to-do list ever since I learned of the one and only Jane Coslick. There's just something about every one of her designs....so colorful and friendly, where you can kick-back and relax the day away. I just get the sense the whole island is like that. This cottage is Jane's most recent undertaking, she shared a peek on her blog. Isn't it delightful?! Luckily for us, it will be available to rent by late spring through Mermaid Cottages. Sign me up!! And stop the presses: Did you guys know Jane has an online shop?! Be still my heart!!

We're now officially down to two weeks!! Some of my Facebook fans got a little peek yesterday into my DIY wedding decorations. I might just keep adding fun stuff on there, so follow along if you're interested!

Kathryn Chaplow

A ton of new snow was just dumped on Minnesota, but that doesn't stop me from dreaming about summer! I'd love to have a lake home just like this Lake Michigan cottage designed by Kathryn Chaplow. Actually I'd love to just have a home like this one, it really doesn't even need to be by a lake! That serene bedroom is a slice of heaven! Love the aqua, the ceilings, the little nook...all so pretty. What about the porch...how fun is that red animal print?! And did you notice the blue and green fabric on the pillow on the sofa in the living room? It looks a lot like the fabric from yesterday's nursery! We gotta figure out what that is, I love it! La Samanna Villas

Wow! You guys gave us some amazing ideas yesterday!! Thanks a million for all of your feedback, we so appreciate it! So many of you said how incredible the Caribbean is. I'd die, I swear to you, being somewhere like the La Samanna Villas on the island of St Martin. The extraordinary view of the Caribbean Sea would be the end of me! Not only is the view breathtaking, but the interiors designed by Marc Michaels are so elegantly comfortable, I can't believe it's not someone's home. I love how our favorite color is paired with oranges, reds, pinks and greens...for "a true Caribbean spirit"! If that is the spirit of the Caribbean, I'm so there!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I hope you're all feeling the l-o-v-e today!! I've shared this room designed by Diane Bergeron before, it's one of my favorites, but I really couldn't think of a more perfect photo for the day! Don't you love the extra color from the piping and trim, all the pillows covered in Rubie Green "East Village" fabric, and that cute Love poster?! (Anyone have info on that?) The bedroom actually belongs to Diane's daughter in their Melbourne home...what a lucky girl!

I'm so excited for my very first (and only!) Valentine's Day as an engaged girl! Happy V-Day, Chris, I can't wait to celebrate! I wish you all a wonderful, love-filled day as well! <3
