Southern Seaside Style

These folks in South Carolina don't exactly live seaside (although according to the map, they're a heck of a lot closer than I am!) but you'd never know it from their charming home photographed by Laurey W. Glenn and featured in Southern Living. I swear I'm hearing waves after looking at all those breezy porches! That swinging daybed?! I WANT ONE! I love all those shutters so much too, you just don't see them up here in Minnesota. We do have screened-in porches though, in fact mine is kinda like that last image. But I love how they have draperies made from waterproof sailcloth in theirs. My cute throw pillows and I could have used those during this nasty storm we had a few days ago! Capri Tiberio Palace

If only I could hop over to Capri twice in one month in real life too! Today we're back on the beautiful island, this time visiting the beautiful hotel Capri Tiberio Palace. This chic five-star boutique hotel just received a stylish makeover by fashion designer turned architect Giampiero Panepinto. These photos taken by Giulio Oriani were recently featured in Elle Decoration as well as Men’s Mentore. I love how they're all touched by the turquoise reminiscent of the amazing views off the private balconies. Have any of you ever been to Capri?? It looks like an incredible place to visit! (And I wouldn't mind to spend my nights here either!)

Caldwell Flake

Blueprint Bliss and Room Remix have both recently featured some of the stunning work of Lisa Flake and Mary Ruth Caldwell, the mother/daughter team of of Caldwell Flake. However there is nothing like a tour of their portfolio. So many bold vibrant rooms, so many soothing neutral spaces, ALL completely droolworthy. Part of their philosophy is to compose visual anecdotes that are all at once classic, curious and calming, which is definitely apparent in these examples. Perfect Weekend Retreat

What a dreamy escape! I've shared the bedroom nook a long time ago on here, but the rest of this showcase cabin created by Country Home for the 2007 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show is just too cute! A lot of charm and function is packed into the 545 square feet, but my favorite feature is still that Scandinavian-inspired bed alcove. Ok maybe that claw-foot tub too! Oh and the blue sink with the pair of sconces designed by Erin Adams! Read all about this home here!

After learning about Wendi Young Design over at Desire to Inspire, I immediately headed over to her website to take a look at her portfolio. It blew me away...I love her California-cool style! All the rooms are filled with so many amazing details, you really get a sense that they are real homes with stories and life! “The Aerie” by Benjamin Dhong

Ooh la la! This sitting room designed by Benjamin Dhong is a meditation on winged flight. Located in the tower attic of the 2010 San Francisco Decorator Showcase, the room was inspired by a romantic Parisian garret. I love the serene vibe of the space, it really feels like a cozy nest (albeit an incredibly chic one!) The fabrics on the pillows are scrumptious and add the perfect pop of color to the room!

Samantha Pynn

Last July I did a short post about Samantha Pynn, the decorator, stylist, and host designer of Pure Design on HGTV, in addition to being a design editor for Style at Home magazine. Talk about talent! I only shared one image then, of the bedroom above, but you guys all told me how much you loved her and her designs. It was enough to have me hooked! So I was delighted to discover she has a new website filled with fabulous, fun, colorful rooms all photographed by Virginia Macdonald.
