Nicki Pasqualone of Vitalic Photography + Giveaway Winner!

What a way to wrap up the week! This is a rare treat...one brought to us by Nicki Pasqualone - a professional photographer who holds an interior design license, whose dad (Randy Hines) is general contractor! Nicki recently finished enclosing her Florida porch into a sunroom (office, playroom, den) and I cannot get over how perfect it is (or how adorable her daughter is!) I just love how she took Urban Outfitter's ruffle shower curtain and stretched it around a blank canvas. Brilliant! The wall color is utterly perfect here too...it was a custom match (the label says CLRNT = 384th, B=76, C = 27, D = 124, if that means anything to you guys). Love the pillows...floral one made from Kravet Jellybean from Etsy shop LilyOnBlue and the green one featuring Schumacher's Betwixt in Water/Ivory made by LabDesigns on Etsy. The cute striped one is from TJ Maxx. (Nicki generously supplied me with a ton of sources, so if you are wondering about anything else, just ask away!)

It's Mad Men...with a twist! I love how designer Chris Barrett used the same vibrant complementary colors throughout this entire Manhattan Beach home for a cohesive look that's fun and inviting. So much great retro furniture here...those turquoise lounge chairs are so cool! I'm really loving the artwork, especially the poolside photograph by Slim Aarons in the dining room. Interior Philosophy

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this Watercolor, Florida vacation home photographed by Brian Bieder belonging to Mandy Mayers. Together with Jessica Roan, her friend and business partner in their Atlanta home furnishings shop, Interior Philosophy, the pair lifted colors from the surrounding coastal area when designing the space. It's beachy, but not in the conventional way we're used to seeing on here. Normally I like a lot of color, but there's so much depth here from the mix of textures combined with all the layers of natural elements. I've never met a hanging porch bed I didn't like. One designed by Jane Coslick? All dressed up in cute turquoise fabric?? Overlooking the sea??? Heaven help me! These photos by Richard Leo Johnson for a feature in Coastal Living a couple years back are actually part of one of my most favorite homes ever, designed by Jane of course (I blogged about it here). Fall may have officially arrived, but this delightful porch is keeping the summer vibe alive for me! I hope you all have a great weekend...I know I'm going to milk it for all it's worth! :)

Modern Beach House

Thanks for all of your awesome suggestions yesterday!! I didn't know I could get any more excited, but I did! I'm going to be in heaven on the sandy coast of Massachusetts. Sometimes I wonder how in the heck I can live in Minnesota when the sea is constantly beckoning me! (Although it helps we have our 10,000 lakes!) This home from Better Homes & Gardens reminds me how easy it is to bring the beach home, where ever you happen to live. Can you believe all of the homeowners fantastic collections? I'm loving the vintage globes, aqua pottery vases and collection of paintings in the bedroom. The vintage map of Cape Cod is perfect (and timely too!!) See more images right here!

Cool & Colorful Sunroom

There are loads of fresh ideas in this colorful sunroom from BHG! The pretty aqua blue vaulted ceiling is the obvious darling here...I would stare off at it all day if it were in my home. I've never been a fan of wicker furniture, but it's perfect here. I especially love the rockers! The cushioned bench in the back with all that great storage, the layered orange rugs on that cute checkered floor, and the cheery roller shades (I just love those!)...it all looks so effortlessly stylish!

Florida Beach House

I wonder how many homes out there were inspired by the movie Something's Gotta Give. I mean, who doesn't love that kitchen?! Well the owner of this beautiful beach home in Grayton Beach, Florida photographed by Colleen Duffley said the movie definitely inspired their new home, the kitchen and its adjoining great room in particular. I am really digging their interpretation. As much as I love white painted trim, it's refreshing to see some wood! Tour the rest of the home (including a super fun bunk room) over at Traditional Home. Mona Ross Berman

I think it was fate that I accidentally received two issues of the new House Beautiful this month. One to keep and one to plaster my drool all over, thanks to this exuberant ocean-side home designed by Mona Ross Berman and photographed by Jonny Valiant. I can safely say this is my newest dream home, so fresh and vibrant, filled with white and juicy pops of color and pattern. I. Love. It. All. It's just so bright and sunny, so HAPPY. I love happy. I can imagine turning up the stereo and listening to a little "Sound of Sunshine" here. In fact, go play the song in another window and come back for another look at the photos. Your weekend has just started my friends! Enjoy it! :)
