I don't feel like we see this look enough! More mountain homes need to incorporate pretty turquoise hues, don't you think? The soothing color palette in the living room designed by Suzanne Kasler for the 2010 Cashiers Designer Showhouse is the perfect juxtaposition to the more rustic space. I love the stacked-stone fireplace, ivory furniture and layered rugs! Lynn Monday designed the dreamy sitting room in the home. I love the colors she used in there...and how about that nailhead trim on the walls?! So cool! Chris Barrett Design

It's Mad Men...with a twist! I love how designer Chris Barrett used the same vibrant complementary colors throughout this entire Manhattan Beach home for a cohesive look that's fun and inviting. So much great retro furniture here...those turquoise lounge chairs are so cool! I'm really loving the artwork, especially the poolside photograph by Slim Aarons in the dining room. Another coastal home in Massachusetts...shocking I know! Like I said on Friday, I'm super obsessed. This light-filled home designed by Polhemus Savery DaSilva and photographed by Brian Vanden Brink is brimming with fresh, cheery color and I love it. I wish I knew the paint color of the kitchen cabinets...it's so pretty how it changes color like that. I think it's so cool how relaxed the dining room is too. Caitlin Creer Interiors

This serene yet fresh and modern living room designed by Caitlin Creer out of Salt Lake City all began with Schumacher's Avebury Floral Vine gracing the pillow on the fab tufted sofa. A perfect complement to Benjamin Moore's Palladian Blue at 75% on the walls (one of my favorites)! So many other great details like the the cozy window seat with all the colorful pillows from Etsy, the striking black spool chair and the gorgeous fireplace with its amazing fretwork detail. The gorgeous millwork, mantles, and paneling were all designed by Steve Tiek and built through Tiek Built Homes. Benjamin Blackwelder, who did all the work on that Dream Home Tour you all loved so much, was responsible for the cabinetry and built-ins. What a dream team! This New England shingle-style house belonging to interior designer Erin Paige Pitts has everything I'd ever want in a home! Located on Gibson Island off the western shore of Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, the wood floors finished in a dark stain look so lovely paired with the all-white walls and splashes of cool blue. I just love how open and free-flowing everything is. And the sunny beach-themed family room off the kitchen looks so cozy...I am loving that fireplace! SFA Design

Nothing says "Something's Gotta Give" more than a blue and white striped rug and comfy slipcovered sofas! SFA Design out of Santa Barbara recently completed this Hamptons estate photographed by Eric Striffler, brimming with beachy blues and greens on a sandy-colored base. They only had 5 short weeks between initial design development and installation, so the team decided to source everything locally. They used local craftsmen to update existing furnishings and fixtures, and scoured shops from Manhattan to Southampton to find the perfect accessories. Modern Beach House

Thanks for all of your awesome suggestions yesterday!! I didn't know I could get any more excited, but I did! I'm going to be in heaven on the sandy coast of Massachusetts. Sometimes I wonder how in the heck I can live in Minnesota when the sea is constantly beckoning me! (Although it helps we have our 10,000 lakes!) This home from Better Homes & Gardens reminds me how easy it is to bring the beach home, where ever you happen to live. Can you believe all of the homeowners fantastic collections? I'm loving the vintage globes, aqua pottery vases and collection of paintings in the bedroom. The vintage map of Cape Cod is perfect (and timely too!!) See more images right here!
